So Crazy Russ Gorgiev is dead. It must be true because there's a ton of threads about it on RGP. I've pinged a few people in the know, and apparently it's true.

I had talked to Russ several times on the phone back in the days of my uber poker posting. He was entertaining and knowledgeable, if nothing else.

On the other hand, he singlehandedly ruined RGP, imho. He drove out every poster worth a damn after a decade of proud poker discussion in there.

So there's that.

I'm not convinced he's gone, truth be told. It just seems like another hoax, hustle and gullible trick for hapless folks to fall for.

But if he is, I suppose this provides the impetus for me to begin writing about poker again, perhaps with a dedicated post to him, ala Gary Carson back in the day.

So upon returning from Northern Ontario, I hit the road with Dr. Pauly, GMoney & Mr. Fabulous to follow Phish around the Midwest. Six states, 1200 miles and four shows.

I'm just happy my friends let me tag along after all the mean things I've said about Phish and their stinky, Wookie fans over the years.
