WSOP Main Event Run Is Over
Made it to Day Four and a 30k cash. I still feel like a big fat loser.
And while I'm very bummed that I was knocked out early today, I can't help but be thankful for the run that I had and the friends here to share it with.
A huge thanks to everyone who reached out with encouragement and positive mojo, especially all the guys here in Vegas who thanklessly took time out of their working days and nights to help a brother out and tried to keep me positive. Seriously, thanks.
I've read a million times about what a brutal marathon the WSOP Main Event is, but I didn't understand just how truly exhausting it is until this week. Every day you wake up, play 12-15 hours of poker, maybe have a beer or two afterwards in an attempt to decompress, and then try and sleep. Rinse and repeat.
After four days of this, I'm wiped out. Each day is its own ultimate poker emotional roller coaster. So now I'm going to have a cold celebratory beer and then sleep. And then get home to my wife and animals and start dreaming about next year.
There's always next year, damnit.
And what the hell, I'm gonna turn comments on for the first time in about four years.
WSOP Main Event Day Four
My eighth day in Vegas here for the WSOP Main Event.
We are down to four hundred and something players after starting with six thousand and something.
In the money.
I just woke up and gotta go play as a short stack in 30 minutes.
But first I need to find some caffeine and food. If I can get a quick double up, today could be yet another very long day.
Let's hope so.
I'll try and update my Twitter feed for you, or better yet, go read Pauly for the best WSOP reporting.

As Otis pointed out to me, there has been 24 hours of no-limit poker played now.
24.
Insane.
And I'm still alive with close to 90k in chips with Day Three only a few hours away.
Crazy fucking day, nuff said.
For the best WSOP coverage and for updates on how I'm doing, you'd better be reading the Tao of Poker.
FYI: I am out of socks.

WSOP Main Event Update
I'm sitting here taking in the fine view from my room here at the Palms. This sure beats staying at the IP, lemme tell you.
Tis fun to see how the other half lives.
So I'm doing my best to get off the strip and avoid the madness here in Sin City before I play tomorrow. I've already done Red Rocks and random exploring along with golf yesterday. Today I'm going to drive up to Mt. Charleston and enjoy the crisp mountain air and 35 degree temperature drop.
A huge thanks to everyone for their encouragement and perspective. Even if when I donk off my chips tomorrow, it's all good. I survived Day One, damnit.

Checking in at the WSOP Main Event
Yesterday was a long, long, long day.
I was outclassed and out chipped for 99% of the day.
And despite running on fumes for almost 13 hours, I somehow survived and ended the day with 38k in chips.
So I just woke up, wondering what the hell I'm going to do until I play next on Wednesday.
I'll be back soon for a proper writeup.
